Abstract

Cardiac magnetic resonance is a very important imaging modality to identify the underlying aethiology in patients admitted with diagnosis of myocardial infarction with non-obstructive coronary arteries (MINOCA), dividing them into two large groups: ischemic versus non-ischemic causes. We present two cases, first of them, a 22 year-old female patient who was admitted referring acute chest pain, an electrocardiogram revealed ST elevation, elevated serum cardiac biomarkers and non-invasive angiography with non-obstructive coronary arteries, she underwent cardiac magnetic resonance which fulfilled 2018 Lake Louis criteria for acute myocarditis. Second case, a 30 year-old male patient presented to the emergency department with a history of acute chest pain, an electrocardiogram was obtained reaveling ST elevation, elevated cardiac troponine and cardiac catheterization with n n-obstructive coronary arteries, patient underwent cardiac magnetic resonance demonstrating acute myocardial infarction.
