Blepharochalasia is a rare disorder characterized by recurrent episodes of painless eyelid edema in young patients. Throughout several episodes of recurrent eyelid inflammation for a few years with an average duration of 2 days for each attack; As a consequence, 2 forms of presentation are obtained: a hypertrophic form characterized by fat herniation and an atrophic form characterized by fat atrophy, eyelid ptosis with good levator function, laxity of the lateral canthal tendon and redundant eyelid skin (dermatochalasia). This redundant eyelid skin tends to be very thin, atrophic, with fine wrinkles, or telangiectasia. The etiology has not yet been clarified. The treatment of blepharochalasia is primarily surgical aimed at the secondary manifestations of the disease; be it corrective surgery for ptosis, blepharoplasty, canthoplasty, among others.
