Mucosal Schwann Cell Hamartoma is a rare condition. Up to 2021, approximately 37 cases have been reported in colon, these were found in colonoscopies for colorectal cancer screening because this entity does not cause symptoms and is not associated with syndromes. We present the case of a 57-year-old female patient who underwent colonoscopy due to a positive fecal occult blood test, showing an elevated sessile lesion of 5mm in the sigmoid colon, which was described by pathological anatomy as a mucosal Schwann cell Hamartoma due to
immunoreactivity to S-100 protein in spindle cells that formed in the lamina propria of the mucosa. MSCH is an entity that has been described since 2009, and the findings will probably increase as more screening colonoscopies for colorectal cancer are performed.
